Marathon's Structured Finance business is comprised of three sub-businesses: Asset Based Lending, Real Estate Finance and Structured Debt Transactions. The Structured Debt Transactions team looks to make investments in undervalued securities found in the structured finance marketplace, which includes: Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDOs):
Asset Backed Securities (ABS) CDOs, CBOs and CLOs are structured debt transactions backed by a diversified pool of fixed income assets including high yield bonds, investment grade corporate bonds, syndicated loans, middle market loans, other CDOs, asset backed securities and real estate assets. ABS, RMBS and CMBS are backed by various forms of consumer and business notes and receivables such as autos, credit cards, royalties, loans and leases, residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, etc. |
